Hi, I’m Veeresh! 👋
I’m a Machine Learning Engineer currently based in Dublin, Ireland. I love building complex ML systems and I specialize in scaling, automating and building models at scale. I enjoy the challenge of making things run faster and smoother.
Things I enjoy : Machine Learning (theory, optimization, techniques), Systems engineering, Running, Stationery, Books, Podcasts and a hot cup of coffee/lemon-ginger tea.
🚀 What I’m currently doing
Currently, I’m an AI Engineer at Proofpoint, where I work on adapting LLMs to the email-security domain. I specialize in:
- LLMs: Fine tuning OSS models (like LLaMA and Qwen), prompt engineering and exploring SoTA techniques in this space.
- MLOps/MLE/SWE: Building automated ETL pipelines with Flyte so models don’t just stay in notebooks.
- Data Engineering: Wrangling large-scale datasets with Amazon Athena and Polars to fuel the next training run.
⏪ What I was doing previously
Before Proofpoint, I was at CeADAR where I worked on everything from national-scale vegetation mapping using remote sensing to early cancer detection to price negotiation forcasting. There, I wrangled data (lots of it!), developed models, deployed them and built ML systems that could scale. Picked up a lot of engineering expertise here with some SoTA ML/DL techniques.
And prior to CeADAR, I was at Eurofins as a Senior Software Engineer building software and systems in the .NET framework. I have picked up a lot of SQL, software engineering and systems building skills from here which I still tend to use today.
